Do you have locker rooms/restrooms/showers/drinking fountains?

Our facility features a drinking fountain, cubbies to store your items while you workout, a refrigerator if you like to pack a post-workout meal, and two spacious, gender-neutral restrooms including two ADA accessible stalls

What do I wear?

Comfortable clothing that you can move your body in, such as leggings, gym-shorts, or sweatpants and t-shirts are usually a good choice. If you are attending a Strongman class, check in with your coach about any specific attire recommendations. Athletic shoes such as running shoes are okay, but we recommend flat-soled shoes like Vans or Converse for lifting classes.

Should I sign up ahead of time?

Yes! Please sign up ahead of time for classes or contact our coaches to let them know you are coming as classes with no-sign ups are subject to cancellation. 

What if I’ve never lifted weights before? 

We’re excited to share our passion for strength and conditioning with everyone, regardless of experience level! Our experienced coaches will guide you through learning technique and safety at a pace appropriate to your skill level and mobility so that you can feel confident in the gym.


What about injuries?

Weightlifting sports have some of the lowest rates of injury of all sports! Research in sports science has found that athletes in any sport who also train in weightlifting are significantly less likely to be injured. Strength training is also great for building healthy bones, mobile joints, and self-esteem. Every workout at Evolution includes a coach-led warmup and cool-down to help prevent injury, and we encourage all members to join us for weekly mobility classes.

I’ve heard weightlifting gyms are intimidating, do I need to be really fit to workout here?

Evolution Strength and Conditioning is a friendly and supportive community. We work hard to reach our personal strength and fitness goals, and we encourage each other along the way. Your Evolution coaches will spend as much time with beginners as with veteran lifters, and you’ll hear your classmates cheering for each other until the last rep is done! This is truly the place to come as you are and let our coaches guide you as you work towards strength and fitness goals set by you!
